Through the counseling process, I strive to provide an atmosphere of openness, trust, and support in which you can explore where you currently are in life and where you hope to be. I understand that opening up to someone new about your story may be quite intimidating. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you are able to feel accepted, seen, and heard. Offering individual, couples, and family counseling, psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy services to adults and adolescents. In collaboration, we will define and explore presenting problems that may be inhibiting personal growth, level of functioning, and/or overall wellbeing. Goals shall be formulated and a plan for achieving these goals established. My orientation is eclectic, drawing from evidence based practices such as Brief Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral, Existential, Clinical Hypnosis and Energy Psychology.

I have over 20 years experience in education and counseling. I build rapport easily with my clients and utilize a client-centered approach in therapy. I have experience in in-patient acute care, crisis, trauma, substance abuse, CBT, DBT, REBT, and ACT. In addition, I specialize in depression, anxiety, Bipolar, Borderline, trauma, OCD and anger management. I also treat adolescents and adults as well. Kara Clark is a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience in adoption, mental health, marital and family relationships, and addiction. Kara values a holistic approach from an attachment and trauma perspective while utilizing different modalities of therapy to meet the needs of her clients.

My ideal client is someone who is motivated to improve their life in some way. My passion is working with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing increased depression, anxiety, and trouble in relationships due to the many life changes they are experiencing because of their age. I believe that this demographic experiences changes and new issues almost daily, and it is important for them to feel like they have someone to guide them through these changes and gain more stability in their lives.

Shautera Clofer is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 7 years of experience in the mental health field. She is passionate about helping families, couples, adolescents, and adults navigate life changes and stressors and live a more meaningful, balanced, and positive life. She specializes in stress, anxiety, grief, family conflict, self-esteem, anger, depression, and child/adolescent therapy. Shautera completed her Master of Arts in counseling at the University of Holy Cross. She has 7 siblings and has great knowledge of family systems, understanding that, with families, it truly takes a village and not everyone has that village.

Julie has a strong desire to work with tweens, teens and the adults who support them. She also has a passion for working with caregivers, healthcare professionals and those living with extraordinary circumstances like chronic illnesses or disabilities. Julie supports her clients in their desire to foster healthy relationships by means of empowering her clients to navigate, prioritize and effectively communicate for a maximized healthy life balance. She believes personal growth and development can occur in all individuals open to acceptance and understanding of themselves and others.

Youth experience many different challenges related to depression, anxiety, negative self view, unhealthy relationships, & environmental stressors. I believe that adolescents & adults are resilient & have the ability to grow in a safe environment. I see adolescents, young adults & adults as well as clients on the Autism Spectrum. My career has been dedicated to working with adolescents, where I have served them through the public school system for 6+ years. Since switching to private practice my passion for working with adolescents & I have found a for working with adults, especially new Moms transitioning into their new life roles.

It is my goal with each individual to build a strong therapeutic relationship where the client can feel accepted for who they are and experience empathy, genuineness, and the safety needed to explore their most challenging thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My typical theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but I also believe that it is necessary, at times, to draw from other orientations and therapies in order to provide the best care possible for my clients.
