Hi there! Welcome to my page. I am a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents and families. I am also an enthusiastic practitioner of Emotional Freedom Technique (a.k.a "tapping”) - a technique use with both adults and children alike to neutralize or eliminate overwhelming negative emotions or physical symptoms. In addition, I practice techniques such as mindfulness, visualization, and relaxation. I primarily provide short-term, solution-focused therapy, educational evaluations, and parent consultation.

I am a licensed Professional Counselor and a Qualified Family and Divorce Mediator, and Parenting Coordinator. I received my Master's degree from Our Lady of Holy Cross College and my mediation training through The Mediation Institute. My experience is working with children, adolescents and adults of all ages. I also work with families and couples.

Dr. Allison Asher is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults to help them succeed socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and academically. In her practice, Dr. Asher partners with clients to gain insight into their personal strengths and support needs, and then tailors recommendations and interventions to help them reach their goals.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor in New Orleans, Louisiana. I received my Masters degree in Counseling from The University of New Orleans and have been practicing throughout the greater New Orleans region for nearly a decade. I provide a broad range of counseling services to individuals, children, adolescents, and adults. I also offer group services for children. My experience and passion is rooted in working with children and their families. I create behavior plans and user-friendly interventions that are designed specifically for the unique needs of each family and child.

*Be aware I am not currently taking any new patients due to my schedule being completely full for the foreseeable future. I believe that healing can happen through the process of empathic and supportive counseling. I work with mood issues, personality disorders, grief, substance use and much more. I utilize a culturally sensitive and holistic psychodynamic style of therapy. This approach encourages development in all areas of life (relationships, thoughts, behaviors, emotions, careers, etc.), and pays special attention to unconscious factors and cultural identity (race, religion, sexuality, gender, disability, etc).

CARE Institute offers various programs including FREE and low-cost teletherapy. Our clinicians approach therapy from a holistic systems perspective to assist clients with learning skills to address life challenges. Clinicians at CARE offer a wide range of expertise to assist clients. Our licensed clinicians are marriage and family therapists (LMFT/PLMFT), professional mental health counselors (LPC/PLPC), and Registered Play Therapists. Our CARE for Y'ALL teletherapy program clinicians are marriage & family therapy graduate students from nationally accredited MFT programs.

I have over 15 years of experience dealing with mental health issues such as depression, ADHD, PTSD, ODD and anxiety as well as other behavioral issues.
