I utilize treatment modalities that best fit client needs.These include brief therapy/solution focused treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Insight oriented/Psychodynamic therapy and others. I provide treatment to children, adolescents, adults and couples.

JFS counseling services are designed to provide guidance and psychotherapy for individuals and families on how to cope with interpersonal and family problems. Our staff of compassionate, highly skilled mental health professionals specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Counseling is provided on an individual and group basis and our services are available to the Greater New Orleans community. JFS therapists are all Masters-level mental health professionals or Masters-level student interns. They are well-trained and up-to-date on the newest Best Practices standards and evidence-based protocols.

My clientele includes all human beings: children, adolescents, teens, adults, and couples, that may experience various issues: ADHD, abuse, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, and substance abuse. In addition, I also work with clients who are diagnosed with depression, anxiety, relationship and family of origin issues, borderline personality, and high-risk behaviors such as alcohol use/abuse. I also work with members of the LGBTQ+ community and the BIPOC community.

With 15 years of experience, Tara Lemon Bleakley MA, LPC currently practices general counseling with a focus in the following areas: behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, stress, problems with self-esteem, relationship problems, transitioning problems, parenting, step parenting, divorce, blended family issues, marital issues, trauma related issues, pregnancy issues, infertility and oppositional defiant disorder.

I utilize EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy as needed. Specialties include, individuals, couples, family therapy and parenting and child/adolescent issues. I practice in the New Orleans area., I have had a psychotherapy practice for over 30 years. I have served on several college and university faculties including having served as an associate professor in psychiatry at Tulane Medical School; a graduate of Tulane University School of Social Work. I have presented original papers at international conferences, am published and have a CD about coping with stress.

As a mostly Adlerian therapist, I will help clients to explore their behavior patterns which may be interfering with attaining their goals. In order to do this, together we will examine each individual's readiness for change, how fear/anxiety plays a role in keeping them from changing behaviors and explore interpersonal/family relationships. To facilitate the most insight and emotional growth as possible for clients, my goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgemental and confidential environment. Through this environment and exploration clients will be better able to set and attain healthy goals and lifestyles.
