A native of New Orleans, I hold a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Holy Cross University. I am currently a PLPC working under the supervision of April Ivy, LPC-S. After taking some personal time to focus on family and motherhood, I am thrilled to be back seeing clients again.

I have years of experience working with young adults, parents/families, and educators to navigate the unique challenges each of these experiences can bring. I support clients in navigating life transitions, identity development, values clarity, emotion regulation, and shame resilience. I also work with clients on attachment-related relationship dynamics and challenges that stem from early childhood or other attachment injuries. By connecting in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space, clients are able to explore their internal worlds and gain clarity as well as a renewed sense of empowerment in their lives.

In seven years of psychotherapy work with children, adolescents, college students, adults, and families, I have found that unhealthy levels of stress can worsen problems related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and beyond. These issues often lead to additional problems at home, school, or work and ultimately affect relationships with friends and family. Struggling with difficult life transitions may have a significant and lasting impact on the mind. It can be hard to navigate these situations or to know where to turn.

I am very passionate about being a counselor and providing a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and couples to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, & career goals. In my almost 20 years of experience in mental health work, I have worked with a diverse clientele of children, adolescents, adults, and couples.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience, my practice is centered on helping my clients find balance and deepen their ability to access true wellbeing. My work, both inpatient and outpatient, has ranged from helping adolescents bolster self esteem and coping skills on one end to helping adults who have suffered from mood and personality disorders on the other. My specialty, though, lies in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, and my work and anecdotal research has allowed me to develop a keen approach to the healing of these ailments on the path to achieving long term mental wellness.

I am a clinical social worker with twenty five years experience working with individuals and families to resolve issues related to anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. I have extensive training in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Therapy sessions focus on techniques that provide strategies and skills for clients to develop new coping skills and improve their quality of life.

With over 25years of clinical experience I provide client centered treatments to assist clients to achieve their identified goals. I utilize treatment modalities that best fit client needs.These include brief therapy/solution focused treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Insight oriented/Psychodynamic therapy and others. I am more commonly known as Victoria Leigh Parenti, and I was born and raised in New Orleans. I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2014. Afterwards, I pursued a Master of Arts in Counseling with a special concentration in School Counseling at the University of Holy Cross, where I graduated in 2018. I trained and counseled in a variety of settings including the following: Thomas E. Chambers’ Counseling and Training Center, Department of Juvenile Services/Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, East Jefferson High School, and Beacon Behavioral Outpatient Clinic.
