Asking for help isn't always easy. If you’re stuck struggling to move past challenging emotions or life changes, or are having trouble in your relationships, counseling may be right for you. I am a licensed and board certified counselor who is experienced in working with children and adults in school, community, and hospital settings. I view counseling as a collaborative journey in which the counselor and client work together to build a relationship of trust and understanding so that we can effectively determine strengths, support systems, and areas for growth as well as establish goals and work towards mental health stabilization.

My areas of focus include working with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. In working through such issues, I believe in the power of building trusting and solid therapeutic relationships. Such relationships help clients feel less alone and help open the door to their journey of healing. In fact, within these relationships, clients can begin to tell their stories, feel heard, and start finding hope amidst their struggles. I believe in helping clients carry their burdens and holding onto their hope until they are able to do so themselves.

I take an eclectic approach and use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Reality Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused, Reality Based, and psycho-education to individuals age 5 and up. My theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change.

Hi there! My name is Jaime and I am a Board-Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. I use creative art therapy directives and traditional talk therapy to help you understand and cope with life's stressors. I work with ages 15 and older and help you deal with life transitions and environmental stressors. I enjoy helping people navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, life changes, and low self-esteem. I have a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Florida State University.
