I am more commonly known as Victoria Leigh Parenti, and I was born and raised in New Orleans. I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2014. Afterwards, I pursued a Master of Arts in Counseling with a special concentration in School Counseling at the University of Holy Cross, where I graduated in 2018. I trained and counseled in a variety of settings including the following: Thomas E. Chambers’ Counseling and Training Center, Department of Juvenile Services/Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, East Jefferson High School, and Beacon Behavioral Outpatient Clinic.

These last few years have presented many challenges for everyone. Depression, anxiety, addiction, grief and other issues are on a rise. It is not always easy to make the decision to reach out for therapy. However, therapy can help and support a person through what they are experiencing. Change is not easy; it takes courage to change and you do not have to face it alone. I have worked in acute care for many years with adults, elderly, children and adolescents. I feel confident to work with many mental health issues.

I am very passionate about being a counselor and providing a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and couples to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, & career goals. I see counseling as a process in which you, the client, and I, the Counselor, having come to understand and build trust with one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, and develop future goals for an improved life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience in addiction, sexual, spiritual and gender identity, self-esteem, trauma and HIV. I have treated a variety of presenting conditions ranging from depression and anxiety to mood disorders, sleep issues, relationship problems and life stress. I have experience working with clients across the lifespan with a particular interest in adults and the elderly. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling and view it as a process by which any of us could have the opportunity to focus on all the various aspects of our lives, ourselves, and who we want to become.

With over 25years of clinical experience I provide client centered treatments to assist clients to achieve their identified goals. I utilize treatment modalities that best fit client needs.These include brief therapy/solution focused treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Insight oriented/Psychodynamic therapy and others. I provide treatment to children, adolescents, adults and couples.

I am an individual and family counselor with over 12 years of experience working with clients in home, school, community-based and office settings. This can include: adults relocating, accepting a new job placement, separation/divorce, relationship ending, a transition from remote to on-site work, a young teen transitioning from high school to college, and or a young adult graduating from college and entering into a real-world setting.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience. My clients are mainly adults and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, addictions, grief/loss, sexuality, relationships and stress.
