Not only do I have professional experience with being a Licensed Addiction Counselor, I also bring my personalized experiences with these issues. I also very much enjoy helping couples learn how to love in the best ways possible.

Lotus Counseling & Wellness is owned & operated by married couple, Auriel Campbell, MA LPC and Trent Istre. Auriel has been serving the Acadiana area as a counselor since 2019. Lotus is dedicated to providing the Acadiana area with a knowledgeable team who can provide a variety of therapeutic modalities to fit the needs of adults, couples, families, adolescents and children. Our goal is to provide affordable, quality mental health services to the Acadiana area.

I am very passionate about suicide education and response, as well as working with those who have experienced sexual trauma and domestic violence, among others. I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of trauma survivors of all ages. Other specialties include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, PTSD, family/relationship conflict, and working with LGBTQ+ individuals. My approach to therapy is eclectic and involves multiple perspectives and techniques depending on what works for you.

Life gets complicated... anxiety, depression, cancer, marriage issues. All of this in addition to our normal life transitions. Good news... you don't have to go through this alone. I'm here to support you through the counseling process. I believe all people are capable of experiencing freedom from unhealthy patterns and healing from hurtful situations and relationships.

My practice offers individual, family, and couples therapy to adult and young adult clients. This is a safe, nonjudgmental, and inclusive space for clients of all racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, sexual, and economic backgrounds. I treat a variety of presenting issues including couples/marriage concerns, infidelity, trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addictive disorders, life and role transitions, parenting, and grief/loss. Couples will benefit from an approach grounded in Gottman Method (Level-2) with additional training in treatment of trauma and infidelity. Thank you in advance for trusting me with your care.
