As a licensed mental health counselor and EMDR therapist, I have had many opportunities to serve a variety of populations and help clients overcome both personal and professional challenges. I have a passion for helping teens and adults develop coping skills to manage their life stressors. I have had significant therapeutic experience working with clients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, behavior problems, anger, and grief and loss.

As a practicing therapist for over 20s years, I pride myself on helping those who need guidance and a listening ear in times of difficulty. Acknowledging that it takes courage to reach for help and begin therapy, I hope to lessen the intimidating and overwhelming process as an experienced therapist. I work primarily with adolescents and adults on issues ranging from depression and anxiety to more specific trauma related concerns. I will work also to hear your needs as we walk alongside each other through the counseling process.

Dr. Laura Fizel is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience treating individuals through the lifespan. She earned her bachelor's degree from The New School for Social Research and her doctorate from Pace University in New York City. She works with school-age children, adolescents, adults and the elderly and provides individual, group, and family therapy. She has provided services in hospital, clinic and school settings. She has taught undergraduate psychology courses as an adjunct professor.

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, it is truly my privilege to witness the kind of strength needed to find therapy.
