Association for Multicultural Behavioral Health is a multispecialty group practice providing counseling, psychotherapy, consultation, evaluations and assessment services for individuals, families, and organizations. Our goal is to help people of different ethnic and cultural groups to access mental health services in their native language.

Each of us carry untold stories, experiences, and challenges that have impacted us in different ways and have molded us into the people we are today. As a therapist, I focus on meeting each client where they are at to collaboratively navigate through life’s complexities, process those stories, and work towards healthier choices, relationships, and more authentic living.

It takes a great deal of courage to share your experiences with someone, and I am honored to walk this journey with you! Together we can explore how current (and past) stressors and uncertainties may be impacting your lived experience. I aim to co-create an open and warm therapeutic space of collaboration where we can unfold your experiences and culture while strengthening insight, healthy coping skills, and self-compassion. My approach is warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental, creating a space where you can feel heard, cared for, and accepted for who you are. In our sessions, I prioritize creating an environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions. I believe that healing begins with feeling truly heard and understood. Counseling is a collaborative journey, and together, we'll work towards fostering self-love, self-acceptance, and personal growth.

With a cultural diverse background of her own,Marija holds a Master Degree in Counseling. She provides Immigration psychological evaluations, Counseling & Life Coaching services to children, adolescent & adult population in English, Macedonian, Serbian, Croatian, Bulgarian & Bosnian. Prior to moving to Chicago, Marija honored her skills at Lindenwood University & refined them in a research program at Washington Uni. School of Medicine, Psychiatry, under supervision of Dr. Ginger Nicol.She set those skills to trial, & enriched them while working with children and adolescents in a clinical setting with acute cases at CLSH.

We are all the sum of our parts, made up of all the little pieces we have collected from the world, from others, and from ourselves throughout our lives. And while we continually craft our ever-evolving lives, some of these pieces may not fit together the way they used to or the way we want them to. In these moments, it can be incredibly difficult to know where we want to go or how to get there. As a queer, trans non-binary, first-generation Macedonian-American, I firmly believe that showing up as your authentic self is an incredibly radical act that can enhance your capacity to learn, heal, love, and grow.

Life is full of transitions and adjustments; in each of these, you deserve a safe and supportive space to talk about it in a relaxed, guided manner. I believe in the importance of language- how you talk to and about yourself and others- and in the power of stories that make life. I want to help you recognize which stories you wrote in alignment with your values and which were imposed on you by society, culture, and the people close to you. In therapy, I utilize evidence-based techniques while also recognizing that your mind is a vast universe to be approached from a philosophical and spiritual place.

I work with with couples, families and individuals to fully realize their potentials and help them have the experiences they want in their lives and relationships. This can prove especially difficult when there are so many factors affecting one's well-being; a boss at work that doesn't respect you, a spouse that doesn't understand you, a friend that doesn't contact you. I try to explore all of these influences and help you find the place where you want to be in. Who said relationships have to be difficult or dreadful to experience?

I support clients through the process in which they are encouraged to welcome any emotions and experiences that arise as it may bring valuable lessons and tools, which can help overcome future obstacles in life. I understand that our life experiences can have an enormous impact on our bodies, mind, and overall functioning; and to heal all these parts, we need to heal our bodies and go inward.

I most enjoy helping clients struggling with family of origin issues, those navigating through loving someone with a personality disorder as well as relationship issues.

I have completed Level 3 Clinical Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method in my work with couples. This method is designed to help teach specific tools to deepen friendship and intimacy in your relationship. I believe that although each individual is unique, everyone has the ability to change, heal and move forward. Therapy can help you to feel better and have a better relationship.

My commitment to my clients is reflected in the way I become immersed in their stories and life circumstances. Ideally my role is one of a genuine fellow human on their path to self awareness, insight, and creativity.

Do you need an affordable psychological evaluation for your immigration case? We understand these services can be expensive and that is why we offer affordable fees. We specialize in conducting Immigration Evaluations for Hardship Waiver, VAWA, U Visa, T Visa, Cancellation, and N-648 cases. Our evaluations are completed in a timely fashion by a bilingual (Chinese)Licensed Therapist. We also work with clients who speak other languages, including Spanish, Russian, French, Arabic, Cambodian, Urdu, Telugu, Gujarati, Vietnamese, Kirundi, and Farsi through professional interpreters.

Natasha Knezevic is a Psychologist in Illinois who has been practicing since 2018. She completed the APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Natasha believes in a trauma-informed eclectic approach to care based on the client's needs. In her spare time, Natasha enjoys traveling, reading, true crime podcasts, and video editing.
