I became a therapist because I have learned to thrive, in spite of life's obstacles. Through my journey I discovered my passion for helping others and chose to become a therapist. In my practice I work with both men and women.

Others are curious to discover more about themselves to improve their relationships and inner self. Whatever your circumstance is, therapy can be the first step in an empowering journey. One way to alleviate common and uncomfortable emotions is by identifying the root cause and processing events using evidence-based modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and/or Brainspotting.

Often, counseling focuses on the symptoms of emotional struggles and never addresses the root causes. My deep interest in people, problems, and processes has allowed me to recognize the complex patterns of individuals, life experiences, family, trauma, relationships and how these have influenced the way clients see themselves and the world around them. With grace, understanding, and support, I seek to help clients understand how their past has shaped them, discover how ensnaring behaviors began (and continue) and then to restore dignity, well-being, and relationships.

Do you suffer from Depression or have Suicidal Thoughts? TMS provides true treatment with a 75% success rate in treatment with 50% of patients experiencing a full remission of symptoms for patients who struggle with depression and OCD. This includes those who have tried multiple medications and struggled with side effects or have not received relief. TMS is not painful or disruptive, does not cause systemic side effects, and does not require hospitalization or anesthesia. Results are often noticed by family and friends within a week. Patient often report results as early as 3 weeks into treatment.

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in the State of Illinois with 17 years of clinical experience. I use a variety of techniques in therapy and match treatment techniques based on the individual needs of each client. I focus on areas of anxiety, trauma and PTSD, depression, relationship issues, and adolescent/teen issues. I incorporate techniques from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

My philosophy towards therapy and, being a therapist,can be put this way.You can create positive change in your life. You can overcome difficult and even seemingly overwhelming obstacles. The first step is to believe that you are worthy of a better life no matter what the present situation tells you. The next step is to accept that, 'Life is a Journey'. I think there is incredible wisdom and hope in those words; a journey is on-going, and, life gives you opportunities to change as you choose! Sometimes we just need a little help figuring out how to start.

Diana has been working with children and families since 1993, specializing in areas related to emotional and behavioral development, sexual and physical abuse, trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss.
