I feel everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. I have a passion for working with children, adolescents, teens and young adults with emotional and behavioral concerns. Conditions I commonly address include anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationships, and trauma. I have a background in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), utilizing horses as fellow "co-therapists" to aid in treatment goals and objectives outside the traditional office setting. I am certified through the "Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship" (PATH) as an "Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning" (ESMHL).

My therapeutic approach focuses on the whole person. I look at the individual, their environment, and the many factors that make up who they are. By focusing on their strengths, I work with the individual to discover the person they are meant to be. My experience includes training in Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. I have previous clinical experience with children and adolescents, in a child welfare capacity, as well as inpatient behavioral health. I was also licensed as a foster parent in 2005; I have both worked with children who are in the foster care system and children who were adopted.

The rollercoaster of emotions that come with the grief of losing what was seen as normal and dependable, can make you feel like your world has been turned upside down.

As a therapist, I am interested in the words that people use to describe their experience — the words that have taken hold of us and told how us to feel, how to think, and so on. I am also interested in the themes that have emerged in someone’s life, the little mistakes they make and don’t understand, and their dreams (or nightmares).

My greatest wish in life is to be able to help make a difference in the world; counseling is my way. I have confronted a variety of issues, and work well with complex conditions. Some include depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, adoption, self-esteem, bullying, family conflict, ADHD, defiant behaviors, anger management, and attachment concerns. My work also extends to parental support in working with their children / adolescents more effectively in communication, discipline and affection. My main desire is for all clients to know they are not alone and help them on their journey. I will adapt to meet your needs.

Building a strong connection with your therapist is one of the largest predictors for therapy success. I want my clients to know that I take their care seriously. I am a little fiery and I like to tell it like it is. I have my client's best interest in mind while guiding them toward their goals. It won't be easy, but that is what I am here for! I am passionate about helping individuals navigate through the healing process of trauma and the different symptoms that trauma brings to an individuals’ life, such as depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder, low self-esteem, and substance abuse, to name a few.
