I work with adults, young and seasoned, dealing with underlying issues such as anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and relationship related, guiding them through to cope with and/or healing through such challenges. Together, we will get you through a crisis from divorce to death and support you to "resurrect" from such major life transitions. I draw upon cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, expressive arts (including visual arts, body movement, music, poetry and journaling), career counseling, eco-therapy and mindfulness, to effect change. In addition, I bring 30 years of working with individuals in higher education.

I specialize in helping Jewish individuals and couples of all levels of religious observance or communal affiliation to explore and resolve concerns over interpersonal, family and community relationships, life-cycle events, intermarriage, conversion, religious or spiritual questions, the Holocaust, and antisemitism/anti-Zionism. An Atlanta native, Emily earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to that, Emily received her undergraduate degree in psychology and nonprofit studies from Auburn University. Emily specializes in working with individual adults and teens. She has extensive experience working with teens (15+), young adults and college students having difficulty with anxiety, depression, life stage transitions (moving, graduation or career change), suicidal thoughts, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and dating.

With a therapeutic relationship filled with nurturing and collaboration, along with a bit of humor and playfulness, we can explore dynamics, improve skills, and overcome barriers. Together, we identify and utilize strengths in the process of facing more challenging emotional and relational struggles.
