Dr. Westheimer works with individuals of various ages, but has specialized training in the treatment of children and adolescents. Her post-doctoral residency was completed at a local forensic private practice where she remained for three years.
Dr. Westheimer has provided individual and family therapy, group counseling, and comprehensive psychological evaluations to adults, children, and families in various clinical settings. She has experience working in neuropsychological, community mental health, private practice, public school, and group home settings. Dr. Westheimer has also worked in numerous residential treatment centers.
Dr. Westheimer employs an integrated treatment approach incorporating directive and non-directive therapy models. Her practice with children also utilizes expressive therapies such as play, art, and sand.
