All life is a relationship. From our very first moments and onward, what happens in relationship teaches us about how to be in the world. We continually form certain core beliefs, ways of thinking, patterns of tension, and ways of moving our body that can be both healthy and limiting. Dr. Sepsey is a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Meraki Psychological Services. She serves children, teens, parents, and emerging adults in Michigan and California. Dr. Sepsey offers therapeutic intervention, neurodevelopmental evaluation, and school advocacy services. She has acquired advanced training at leading institutions including Stanford University and Children’s Hospital of Michigan, where she has gained clinical specialization in working with pediatric chronic pain and illness, as well as supporting individuals across the lifespan to navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and autism.

My purpose as a therapist is to help clients feel less alone in their experiences and learn tools to live a life with more ease, insight, and awareness. I support children, teens, adolescents, and young adults in having a space to feel seen, gain deeper self-awareness, implement coping strategies and reach attainable goals to live life more fully. As a client myself, I aim to normalize the process of therapy and reduce the stigma around receiving mental health support. Navigating life stressors can be overwhelming and difficult for children, adolescents and parents. Watching a child struggle with mental health concerns can be difficult to know where to get additional help, and know how to approach behaviors at home. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe place that will allow children and adolescents to feel comfortable to talk about what is bothering them and learn how to cope with their stressors, as well as help parents feel like they can understand their child in their individual needs.

I specialize in working with young adults ages 16-30 as they navigate the exciting, yet often stressful transitions within early adulthood. Many of my clients have experienced trauma and find that this impacts their relationships, school, work, and general sense of self. This can lead to feelings of sadness, anxiety, low self-esteem, and difficulty trusting yourself. These feelings can impact all relationships, but many encounter challenges when dating and getting involved in romantic relationships, as they may experience attachment concerns, intimacy challenges, and difficulty choosing good partners.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families, as well as adults. My interventions are heavily rooted in behavioral therapy and evidence-based practices including feminist and attachment theories. However, I tend to conceptualize clinical presentations from a multicultural and social justice perspective. While I employ empirically validated treatments to ignite change, I am also of the belief that there is no single story to any individual. Consequently, it is important to understand the social, cultural, political, and spiritual context of each individual.
