Licensed in FL, GA, & CA- I knew I was called to be a mental health therapist when I was 11. How else was I going to fix my life after my parents damaged me :-) After growing up in foster care, abused & abandoned, I spent decades feeling lost & helpless. At 37, I finally learned how to heal myself. I went on to get my PhD in Mental Health Counseling, a Hypnotherapy degree, & became an author of self-improvement books. I went on to work in women's in-patient & co-ed out-patient substance abuse facilities, a psychiatric hospital, private practice, the military, low income families, and wrap around services for foster children.

People tend to seek help when their lives feel out of balance. Other times we may not be sure where our depression or anxiety stem from at all. Are you looking to overcome a substance use disorder or any kind of addictive behavior (e.g. food addiction). Do you feel like you have tried so many times to be sober but just can't understand why you keep relapsing? My approach to treating these disorders is holistic but also can work with the 12 step model. I look at what may be driving this behavior the "underlying core issues" rather than focusing on symptoms alone. I do not see clients who are actively using drugs or alcohol. I am able to counsel family members of addicts.
