I specialize in family/relationship dynamics, LQBTQIA+ experiences, substance abuse disorders, everyday life transitions, and varying mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Not only do I pull from my clinical training in these topics, but also from my lived experiences and how they have affected not only me, but my relationships and family. These include being queer, a parent, a transplant from the midwest, and experiencing childhood trauma. I use my clinical expertise and lived experiences to create judgment free and individualized mental health care, which is at the core of how I practice.

Having been in the field of behavioral health and counseling for 14 years I can understand that we all experience trauma and severe life stressors' that leave us feeling stuck and hopeless. Your crisis may be a breakup, depression, relationship issues, anxiety, chronic illness, or something that is so overwhelming that you are struggling with life. Often times we hold ourselves in bondage to the choices we have made. I believe some of life's most difficult experiences lead us to our most extraordinary growth. After high school I attended Chapman University and earned my Bachelor's in Psychology. Immediately after I went on to achieve my Master's in Social Work at the University of Southern California. Earlier experience centered around high-risk children, teens and families, as well as the seriously mentally ill (SMI) population. Since founding ACC in 2004, I have expanded my focus and training to work with youth, young adults, couples and families dealing with a myriad of mental health challenges and life transitions.

My view on therapy is very simple, though not always easy: 'through relationships, we heal’. Many of the barriers that inhibit healthy relationships include negative self-talk, fear of judgement, and our need to maintain a sense of control, especially when we are deeply hurt or wounded. Trauma does not discriminate and it does not wait for an opportune time to present, but we can make sense of it and heal old wounds that hold us back from really connecting with those we love.
