I work with my clients to help them find hope, healing, and restoration. I counsel clients of all ages who are having issues with depression, anxiety, anger, adjustment, grief, trauma, crisis of faith, and relational problems.

Change is the only constant in life. Our lives are constantly changing; we ourselves are evolving. With those changes come challenges, often mental and emotional. I have years of experience working with persons of all ages, but mostly with children, adolescents and families. I have worked with a wide range of people on a number of different issues. The majority has been depression and anxiety, but I have helped people with various mental health challenges that people face. In working with anyone, my main focus is on seeing the issue from their perspective and helping them overcome it or develop ways of coping. In seeking out therapy, for most people, there is a fear of engaging in it. A person that is able to start, participate, and finish therapy are brave people.

Life is a journey. Sometimes we must take the road less traveled to get to our destination. The road less traveled for many has been acknowledging they need help and taking the steps to seek help. I meet each client wherever they are on that road to life's journey. I believe each of us has the innate ability to reach our full potential. I view counseling as a collaborative relationship where we work as a team to explore the current problematic issues and develop goals for an improved life toward realizing those goals. / may focus on patterns of thoughts, behaviors, moods, and relationships that are important to you - the client.

I believe that people seek out counseling because they feel that they are lacking guidance and are struggling to make sense of the problem(s) or issue(s) they are experiencing. In other words, they feel “stuck”. Because of this, they are searching for a way to change, move forward, or process their own thoughts and feelings related to whatever is causing their problem. Each person has the option to take charge of their own narrative and change their current problems or circumstances or create a new life all together. Through the counseling process, I am able to help my clients accomplish that and move forward.

I offer a private and comfortable setting in my private practice for individuals, couples, or families who desire to find where in their lives they feel "stuck" and who want some help in moving forward as they try to create more meaningful lives. Over the past 20 years, I have had considerable experience working with relationship issues, grief issues, mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, and adjustment issues. I also facilitated a parenting group for 14 years, though we have taken a break until Covid is no longer a challenge. Group work continues to be a strong interest of mine.
