I am a Licensed Social Worker in Alabama with 24 years of experience providing mental health and behavioral counseling in various settings and various aspects of counseling. My client populations includes, but is not limited to working with adolescents, adults, geriatrics with a variety of mental health/behavioral presenting issues . As a skilled therapist and coach, my goal is to work with clients in providing strategies to overcome emotional, behavioral, and mental health barriers to well-being. My goal is to meet clients where they are and develop strategies that empower them to walk in wholeness and live the life they desire

My education has taught me to meet my clients where they are. It's your world and I am here to assist as much as you need me to! In a non-judgmental and confidential atmosphere, your progression is a priority. Working together, we will identify the issues and/or triggers you may be experiencing and how to overcome, work through, and move forward from those stumbling blocks. With a listening ear, I will be there to support and encourage you as necessary. I will also attempt to push you to your fullest potential. I enjoy working with clients to help identify their strengths, overcome obstacles and build their self-esteem. I work with clients to normalize their feelings and increase their self-awareness. Dr. James L. Jackson has over 15 years experience providing professional counseling for children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing mental and emotional pain related to anxiety, depression, and trauma. Dr. Jackson is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor. James works with clients as young as age 3 and uses evidence-based therapy modalities to address behavioral and emotional concerns.

Alabama Counseling & Consulting Services (ACCS) is founded by Lauren Roberts Jones, MS, LPC. Lauren has a wide range of clinical training and experience working with individuals and families. Her specific areas of interests and expertise include, but are not limited to: relationship/family issues, eating disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder and autism. Therapeutically, she works from an integrative perspective, utilizing a variety of orientations and therapies according to the client's individual needs. Lauren's approach involves unconditional acceptance and understanding toward each client.

My background is unique and varied which provides a broad range of knowledge, and experiences from having served in the U.S. Army, worked in Law Enforcement for over twenty-five years, worked on a church staff and as Therapist. We should not be defined by the negative beliefs we hold about ourselves but in the positive changes we can make. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, groups, adults, and adolescents.

I Love working with children and families because I feel that the family is so important in the development of children. Helping kids to have a better home life or helping improve their transition during a divorce, a recent move, or a new school environment is an important part of my practice. I also enjoy working with adults to help them achieve their best life. I use an eclectic approach that includes: child-centered play therapy, sand tray therapy, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and client centered therapy. I also enjoy helping clients to find their own strengths and ways to utilize those strengths to have their best life

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, extensive experience in mental health, substance abuse & spiritual issues as a Chaplain/Pastoral Counselor. I hold two Masters Degrees: Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care/Counseling & Master of Education in Counseling/Guidance. Worked over 10 years with adults & now am expanding into work with children/adolescents. My ideal client is one that is ready for change and who can be committed to the therapy process. I am versed in different areas of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, ADHD, parenting challenges, etc. I am also an EMDR Certified Therapist to treat PTSD, trauma, and subsequent or related symptoms. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, another modality that can be used to treat symptoms of trauma.
