I have worked extensively with people suffering from anxiety, depression, codependency, eating disorders, sexual abuse and trauma. In my 17 year career, I have worked at universities, counseling centers, as a social worker and now in private practice. As someone in recovery myself, I understand the need for effective treatment, provided in a safe and healing environment. To that end, I have obtained extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and completed my certification in Family-Based Treatment, an evidenced-based treatment for adolescents. My passion for family work and experiential, hands-on exercises help clarify complex family issues and create an environment where healing occurs.

I began my career working with children and their families in a Residential Treatment facility and then moved into working in Intensive In-Home Programs all over the Sacramento area. I was a Clinical Manager for River Oak Center for Children and Sacramento Children's Receiving Home. I have also worked with women and children experiencing domestic violence at My Sisters House Shelter. Most recently I provided care to teens and families at Kaiser Permanente.
