I have experience working with adolescents and young adults in a variety of contexts who are struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. My work with adolescents and young adults is a combination of empathetic and direct. I use techniques from the CBT, DBT, and Person Centered therapeutic lenses to aid clients in managing their substance use, processing and healing from trauma, and regulating their moods. The goal of the therapy is to empower individuals to overcome their challenges, build resilience, and improve their overall mental health and well-being.

Trained at UC Davis Medical Center to treat young children who have experienced trauma or behavioral difficulties. Additional training from the Renfrew Center in the treatment of eating disorders provides a unique combination for helping young children and their families with eating issues or obesity. A dissertation on binge eating provides an understanding for those who have emotional eating problems. Experience with addiction and dual diagnosis was earned while working with Contra Costa County treatment programs. Other experience includes treating children and adults who have suffered from maltreatment, domestic violence, depression, grief, and or eating disorders.

I have worked and trained in locked settings (jails and prisons), community health clinics, and colleges and universities for nine years. I have worked with older adults living with HIV, addiction, and life course diseases, inmates of all genders preparing to transition out of locked settings, and students from 18 to over 50 navigating the difficulties of college life.
