Family Village Counseling Center is a telehealth only mental health agency. We have multiple therapists with many years experience, offering services children, teens, families, adults and couples. Our therapists offer laid-back, flexible services, to allow you to feel more comfortable in connecting with a therapist that meets your therapeutic needs. We accept Medicaid and are in network with most major commercial insurance plans. We do offer private pay options for individuals and can explore payment plans or a sliding scale fee if needed.

In my 20-plus years in mental health, I have worked with individuals from ALL walks of life including prominent professionals, fellow clinicians, and a vast variety of others. This broad spectrum has taught me many valuable lessons, but one holds true; everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. In my experience, it is the client who recognizes a problem and is determined to correct it, who does the best in therapy. My primary goal is to meet you human to human in the most objective space possible. I can assure you a safe, confidential space with a compassionate ear.

Different people need different things at different times in their lives. For the most part, my style is person-centered, which feels more like two friends talking. We take the time to get to know one another, your unique interests and what makes you tick. We utilize this information to personally tailor our time together.

My goal as your therapist, is to help you become the best version of yourself that you can be. We will work together to get through whatever it is that you may be dealing with - anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or anything else that could be disrupting your quality of life. My approach is person-centered and non-judgmental. I specialize in working with substance use disorders but also have experience working with many other mental health disorders.

I am experienced in techniques to help clients deal with anxiety such as thought stopping, reframing and mindfulness. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients to change thier automatic negative thoughts to positive thoughts. I encourage clients to focus on self care and help them develop a menu of coping skills to utilize in order to get through difficult times.

I offer psychotherapy, as well as, psychological evaluations: ADHD, developmental delays, behavior problems, IQ, advanced placement, disability consideration, emotional support animals, etc. I provide therapy for a variety of emotional/behavioral issues for all ages. I have a special interest in toddlers/preschoolers/children with developmental/behavioral/emotional problems and women with depression/anxiety. I enjoy helping parents learn how to best help their children to become happy and successful. I do parent coordination as well. I have a farm office, so is a much less formal atmosphere. Bring your pet or borrow mine!

I have been in practice since 1999, when I received my MSW from the University of Kentucky. My work has been with families and children in multiple settings, with particular focus on trauma informed care. I am comfortable with family interventions as well as working with individuals. I have always enjoyed working with children and knew that I wanted to work with children and their families in some capacity. This work has been in a variety of settings, in patient, in-home, and outpatient and in school. I have completed the training for Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and understand how trauma impacts an individual.

I have over 30 years of mental health therapy experience. I have a general practice with an emphasis on family issues, including adolescents, couples therapy and substance abuse. I provide a laid back atmosphere for therapy that is both welcoming and warm to make each client feel comfortable.

People come to therapy because they want to feel better. It might be relationship problems or anxiety/depression, but whatever the reason, life has become uncomfortable or painful. Most people want more understanding of themselves and their situation. That being said, change is what we all seek in therapy. Making your life work better is the goal. I focus on altering self-defeating ways, gaining perspective, and increasing insight that leads to change. The result is an improved quality of life.

Our counselors provide couples counseling for intimacy concerns, infidelity, high conflict, and communication problems. We provide couples retreats, couples counseling with co-therapists, and traditional couples therapy in-office and virtually.

I am constantly expanding my knowledge and level of expertise in different fields. I am continuing to learn more about grief and loss and how it may impact us on a daily basis.
