I work with adults on life, love and purpose. I work compassionately to help individuals who are motivated for change but who are faced with roadblocks to making that change happen. Roadblocks may include: struggles with depression, stress, anxiety, substance abuse; finding one's own voice; negative relationship patterns; poor boundaries with others; low self-esteem, and/or negative body image; lack of a sense of purpose or belonging.

Drew works with individuals who are looking to gain insight and improve their quality of life. He seeks to understand each individual holistically, including their backgrounds and the strengths they already possess to provide an individualized approach. Drew believes that establishing a strong alliance with his clients is essential to getting the most out of therapy and creating lasting change. Through this alliance, he partners with his clients to explore and address thought and behavior patterns that serve as barriers to enjoying life fully. Drew has been working the better half of a decade with adults, children, and adolescents.

I completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Maryland in 2010 and have worked in both clinical settings and the public school system teaching children and adolescents behavioral techniques, mindfulness, coping skills, social/relational skills, and organizational skills to help individuals thrive. I am experienced in treating adults and youth of all ages, backgrounds, and diagnosis. My passion has always been in working with female adolescents and adults, however, if you feel I am the right provider for you, I can work with individuals aged 10 and older on any spectrum of gender identity.

I also work with the LGBT+ community as an "out" counselor. I approach counseling from a multicultural and social justice viewpoint and have lived and worked in many countries and US states. We have all probably heard at one time or another that “life is hard.” But let’s face it, hearing that meaningless statement from others is not helpful when you are experiencing internal chaos that you cannot seem to swim out of. If only you could explain to them the level of exhaustion, anxiety, or shame you feel. The years of believing you were never good enough, or the amount of loss you have experienced is weighing on you. Yes, life can sometimes be hard, but just accepting this simple fact is not helpful in the process towards healing. You are wanting to reach a place of peace and joy. This is the next step.

We can’t avoid pain or erase traumatic experiences but we don’t have to suffer. We suffer when our inner distress grabs hold of our decision making. We beat ourselves up and move further away from others. Sometimes we don’t recognize who we see in the mirror. I want to help people move closer to the person they want to be and the people they care about. I will try my hardest to help clients unhook from their painful thoughts and feelings and traumatic experiences so they can be engaged in the world in more meaningful ways. I love coaching families with young kids how to help their kids make positive changes very quickly using PCIT.
