Hello! My name is Donna Murray and I look forward to connecting with you. I’ve had the joy of working in the counseling field for over 25 years in multiple settings including: private practice, inpatient and outpatient, home-based, school-based and residential detox. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the states of Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina and have been offering counseling services since 1996. My philosophy of healing is like working your way through a set of nesting dolls from the outer doll representing why you want to heal: trauma, attachment/relationship injury, depression, grief, and anxiety. The next doll holds the symptoms, thoughts, and feelings of the first doll. The next doll may may hold your negative beliefs you have perceived about yourself, others, and the world. The next doll may hold consequences and life impairments. The final doll represents your core and authentic self. The person you would be without all of the other dolls in relationship to the unity of mind, soul, heart, body and spirit.

My ideal client is someone that comes for counseling services due to a strong desire to create positive change in their life. These clients want to see what life is like when they do not just tolerate feeling bad about themselves, isolating, having anxious thoughts, feeling "off", and many other things. These clients need someone that will listen and provide them a safe space to be heard and be told their wants and needs are valid and sometimes told when they are functioning off of irrational thoughts as well. A client that wants to see what they are capable of changing and/or coping with because they feel stuck is why I'm here.
