I am a Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing for 30+ years. I was trained in Cognitive Behavior therapy and have training in Substance Abuse as well as Depression and Anxiety. I have special experience working with Chronic pain patients and doing presurgical psychological evaluations. I believe that by providing a warm, nurturing and safe space, I can help you understand and work through the obstacles that have been preventing you from living your best life and making positive life changes. My practice philosophy is to understand my patient's situation and then to use many models of possible treatment either alone or together. Relationships can be difficult, life holds its challenges. I am trained in Behavioral Psychology but use it primarily as a tool to manage anxiety and depression. My overall practice is analytic and psychodynamic in nature. I am trained in hypnotherapy and also offer therapy, using a 12 session program, designed to help people with shyness. Another workshop type set of sessions is offered for an assessment of and treatment for, difficulties with motivation in college.

Dr. Couvadelli is an adult and pediatric Neuropsychologist/Psychologist with areas of expertise in clinical neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation and health psychology. Dr. Couvadelli obtained her PhD in Behavioral Medicine with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience. She completed an internship in clinical psychology/neuropsychology, a fellowship in cognitive rehabilitation, and a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology. Dr. Couvadelli has served as the head of Pediatric Neuropsychology at JFK Medical Center, NJ and she holds the appointment of Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Seton Hall University School of Health/Medical Sciences.

Dr. Pete approaches clinical work from a cognitive orientation, including a variety of evidence-based treatments while creating an open dialogue about treatment techniques, goals and culture. The main focus is on improving wellbeing and reducing stress including integration of Eastern traditions such as Buddhism and Yoga. This has lead to the authorship of several books and research articles on the utilization of mindfulness for effective leadership, building effective teams, and improving the wellness of high performing professionals (athletes and executives).
