I provide therapy and assessment services to individuals from young children through young adults. Services provided include diagnostic and comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations, as well as treatment in individual and group formats. I provide treatment for individuals with a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, and challenging behaviors. I have a particular interest in working with families and children around issues related to adoption and have completed a certification in Clinical Issues in Adoption developed jointly by the CT Department of Children and Families, the UCONN School of Social Work, and Southern CT State University.

Kristin Dineen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides individual, group and family therapy. Kristin brings 30 years of experience in treating adolescent and adult clients experiencing anxiety, depression, substance abuse and other difficulties. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, and outpatient programs. Kristin received her Masters in Social Work from Fordham University and is a certified Addictions Counselor.

I successfully work with persons chemically addicted to drugs and alcohol. A large part of my focus is working with individuals that would benefit from the use of an addiction medication, such as Methadone or Suboxone. I also work with non-chemically addicted individuals such as problem gamblers. It is a recognized strength to work with addicted individuals with respect and dignity and without moral judgment. I support individuals' use of 12 step programs however; I effectively work with individuals who do not prescribe to 12 step philosophies.

Life is full of changes and challenges. Sometimes we have the tools to manage all of the stress but sometimes we find that we need some support and guidance to help us get through the rough times. You don't have to go through these times alone. While lasting change takes time, when individuals and families are struggling or in crisis, it is important that they find some immediate relief; I am mindful about attending to urgency for results. When helping someone make the changes they want, I recognize that symptoms of anxiety, sadness and interpersonal conflict all occur within contexts; these problems exist within a person and within a system - whether family, social or occupational.
