You are made up of so many different parts and I believe in the importance of seeing and acknowledging all of those pieces. Sometimes we can be told - directly or indirectly - that we hold a singular role, so we may find ourselves trying to fit in a mold that does not hold all the pieces we value about ourselves.

I am a psychotherapist and bodyworker in private practice for over28 years. I bring curiosity, compassion, and respect to my work with young adults and adults. I see our work as a dance between an interactive exchange and thoughtful reflection. Calling on the wisdom of many approaches, including Somatic Experiencing [Body- Based], Psychodrama, the work of Murray Bowen [Family Systems], and mindfulness practices, I work with individuals addressing a wide range of issues. Much of my work is focused on relationship and attachment. I especially work with individuals who have had challenging or traumatic relational histories.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been practicing as a therapist since 2015. I currently work in private practice with Insight Therapeutic Services. I have served in a variety of settings including non profit agencies, inpatient and residential treatment, crisis intervention programs, school settings, as well as private practice. I am passionate about strengths-based, trauma-informed counseling for children, adolescents, and adults in a comfortable and welcoming private practice setting. I have a focus on providing collaborative support within a framework of social justice and a strong belief that each person has everything they need within them and sometimes we all lose touch with these things and could use some outside support to discover our answers. I view my role as a therapist as the bridge to the answers within that may be difficult to see. I believe that the context of our lives is important to understanding our experiences.

Life can be complex: relationships, family, school, work. Our lives can be further challenged by the unique aspects of our times. We are under constant bombardment of information, straining our ability to focus and compartmentalize. Factors such as trauma, shame and guilt further complicate things. My approach is to help "break it down and make it simple". This means helping people untangle their thoughts, pressures and feelings, while collaboratively devising plans aimed at learning to manage and alleviate whatever symptoms are causing distress.

Taking the first steps can feel extraordinarily challenging but I will be there to provide support and guidance within your journey. I believe everyone has the capacity to manage life's challenges and I can provide you the skills to do so.

The human condition includes times of lightness, times of darkness, and everything in between. I'm AuDHD, queer, and non-binary and looking to work with folx at the Auti x trans/genderqueer intersection. Many folx at this intersection find it hard to get an "official" diagnosis because DSM criteria is based off of a voyeuristic interpretation of Autism that does not take gender, culture, race, and class into consideration. Autism is a neurotype that looks differently in each person, and genderqueer/trans folx are more likely to be Autistic and be underdiagnosed. I'm here to support you in unmasking, understanding how your brain-body works, how trauma may intersect with your neurodivergence.
