You are made up of so many different parts and I believe in the importance of seeing and acknowledging all of those pieces. Sometimes we can be told - directly or indirectly - that we hold a singular role, so we may find ourselves trying to fit in a mold that does not hold all the pieces we value about ourselves.

The longer I’ve lived, the more I’ve understood that life brings both joy and pain, success and failure, beginnings and endings, and this duality can often bring dissonance within us, as we work to make meaning of it all. Healing and wellness are deeply personal to everyone’s journey, and I aim to honor your diverse life experiences through this work. Existential therapy believes that although humans are essentially alone in the world, they long to be connected with themselves and others. I seek to avoid using models that may label people. Truth is discovered subjectively, by each individual. My practice is often, directly aimed at collaboratively making sense of one's experience(s) in order to forge new meanings and develop new identities. From a strengths based perspective, I collaborate with my clients to increase self-awareness and understanding in order to transform fragile or confusing relationships into ones that can be more clear, strong and connected.This includes a specialty in working with couples.

I approach the therapeutic relationship with authenticity, warmth, humor and non-judgment while meeting clients where they are. My approach is collaborative and curious, placing you as the expert of your own life while offering insight, compassionate support and holding space for vulnerability throughout the healing process. I believe all struggles in life to be valid and worthy of acceptance and empathy and I believe in the human capacity for resiliency. I place strong emphasis on building a trusting and safe client-therapist alliance and I strive to empower my clients while working together toward goals and desired life changes.

As a seasoned psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, I work with both individuals and couples and specialize in working with women. I am experienced and comfortable working with a variety of concerns including anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress, depression and life transitions. Grief and losses of all types are special interests. It is certainly not necessary though to have identified a problem, as I also work with people who are feeling stuck or unfulfilled in life to find ways to move forward differently. Couples most often contact me to work through relationship problems and restore connection.

My passion comes from helping people move past the losses and traumas of their past and into a rich and full life. Trauma and the losses we experience in life can wound us on every level - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. My desire is to see you pick up the pieces and create a beautiful life beyond the struggle of grief, anxiety, postpartum difficulties, infertility, disordered eating, childhood abuse, and other painful life events. My approach is one of compassion, honesty, and a little bit of sass - to help you rediscover a life of passion, beauty, joy, fulfillment, and empowerment.

I have enjoyed helping people with stress, anxiety, depression, abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), addiction/alcoholism in the family, couples, self-esteem, dissociation, and attachment issues. I offer EVIDENCE BASED PSYCHOTHERAPY to individuals, couples and groups as a licensed psychologist since 1991. my area of expertise is in the evaluation and treatment of substance abuse. I have worked in substance abuse settings since 1986 including detox ,and outpatient settings . I currently provide counseling required by Project Crash to assist clients in regaining their license after a DWI offense and also provide evaluation for the office of professional regulation. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families who are dealing with addiction issues.I also have a degree in theology and enjoy discussing how one's faith can be used in dealing with life's issues.
