About
I specialize in therapy with children, adolescents, parents, and families, dealing with life transitions and crises impacting social, emotional, academic, and interpersonal functioning. Goals may include working through a difficult transition, relieving specific troubling symptoms, building coping strategies to manage difficult feelings (anxiety, depression, frustration), improving communication, improving the quality of relationships, increasing social skills, reducing conflict, improving conflict resolution and problem solving skills, and gaining greater insight and awareness for personal growth.
My approach is supportive and non-judgmental, flexibly and creatively integrating different treatment approaches to tailor the therapy to meet the individual's needs. I have expertise with children who have special needs (ASD, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disturbances). In addition, I work with children and families impacted by divorce.
