Chris Cline, MA, has her Master's in Counseling and received her degrees from Regis University and Colorado Christian University. She has been working with children, teenagers, families, couples and individuals on topics of addictions, depression, sexual abuse, adoption, abandonment, attachment issues, domestic violence, wrestling with your relationship with God, trauma experienced while in the womb, gender identity, post traumatic stress disorder and conversion disorder. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor and I offer Individual Psychotherapy, Couples and Family Therapy to help people heal and develop skills for improving relationships and communication, find new ways to cope with stress, depression and anxiety, and create healthier and more adaptive patterns. My treatment approach is psychodynamic and client-centered, offered in a safe, compassionate and supportive environment. As director of the BLOOM Maternal and Infant Wellness Program, I specialize in supporting women and their families through the transition to parenthood. A unique and often challenging time punctuated with endings and new beginnings. Women and their families need and deserve to be nurtured and supported during this time. My areas of expertise include: The prevention and treatment of pregnancy and postpartum depression and anxiety, promoting healthy parent-child attachment, as well as strengthening and “baby-proofing” relationships.

Although I have supported hundreds of clients in a variety of treatment settings over the last 15 yrs, I found my calling in working primarily with women/women’s issues after experiencing my own personal journey with infertility, motherhood, and grief/loss.

First, I believe it is my duty to be able to actively listen to my client, obtain a good understanding of where they are and where they want to go. As a young man growing up in North Chicago, I quickly learned that life is full of rewards and upsets, if I allowed it to happen. At 3 months old, I was abandoned by my mother, left inside of a garbage can in an alley waiting to die. However, life had other plans for me. A passerby heard my faint cries and pulled me from the garbage can. Later, I was adopted but went on to experience years of physical and emotional abuse by my adopted mother. At the age of 12, I ran away from home and was placed in foster care. I was adopted again, but I experienced more mental and physical abuse. I dropped out of the 9th grade and began running away again. At the age of 16, the authorities declared me an emancipated teenager. With a story like mine, you would probably think there was no hope for finding happiness or for finding quality of life. However, I have learned to use my negative experiences as a testimony to reach out and help others.

I work in Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative therapy models. My goals for clients are to find strengths and resources already existing in their life to facilitate change towards a less problem focused future. I review how relationships and society can affect an individual, couple, or family's relationships.
