Hello, my name is Becca Leitman, and I am an Adoption, Grief and Loss specialist, offering individualized and family counseling services. I have over ten years of experience working with children, adolescents and families formed through domestic and international adoption and foster care. I provide caring, specialized treatment in: adoption/foster care issues, birth family relationships and their subsequent reunions, children of divorce, trauma recovery, depression, sexual abuse, grief and loss, identity struggles, anxiety, anger management, and cross-cultural adjustments. I treat each client with deep empathy, and approach therapy from a psychodynamic and interpersonal therapeutic lens.

With evening and weekend hours available, I aim to make help accessible to my clients. And with over 35 year of work in the field, I bring that deep experience and wisdom to the work. I feel very effective working with clients on many issues: COUPLES: Infidelity, loss of emotional/intimate closeness, communication problems, anger issues, and parenting. FAMILIES: blended family issues, adoption/fostercare, caregiving decisions, substance abuse concerns. The Agresta Psychotherapy group has been providing psychotherapeutic services in the Metropolitan area for over thirty years. I, personally, have worked in the mental health profession in various capacities for over 20 years. My specialties include anxiety disorders, relationship counseling, women's issues and family and group therapy. I established a division of APG called Women's Wellness. Women's Wellness specializes in problems commonly associated with women, such as postpartum depression, fertility, adoption and surrogacy, women's cancers, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, parenting skills and couples issues.

Over 20 years experience helping individuals and couples to improve relationships and professional situations that may affect their self image and esteem. Our work together will focus on finding the core issues which have blocked you from using your assets to develop your fullest potential. How many of us want to change those dysfunctional parts of ourselves and the often accompanying sadness, anger, and anxiety but find we run into a wall over and over? Whether in intimate relationships, in friendships, in collegial relationships, or those with our family members, the familiar patterns continue to create distress and often a sense of failure. We can then find ourselves repeating destructive scenarios.
