My ideal client is someone who recognizes the need for change in their life, but may not know how to go about it to produce positive results. I treat adults and teens who are struggling with trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and relationship /situationship issues. In addition, cultivating self-awareness and figuring out what goals you have is a big part of therapy no matter what you come in with and is something everyone could benefit from. Being open to talk about hard things is difficult, but also very brave. I see it as a privilege to get to work with those who are ready to make that step in a safe validating environment.

All humans are unique, as are all clients. While there is no way to describe the “ideal” client, I work best with those individuals who place a high value on authenticity, transparency, and honesty. Those three factors are well suited for clients who are goal-driven and aspire true and lasting change. Some areas of rewarding experience have included work with non-traditional family structures, women’s health and wellness, intergenerational trauma healing, adoption and its impact for all involved, and healthy relationship development- to name a few. I assist humans in realizing, trusting, and believing in their truest potential.

C.S.Lewis once said, " You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending". I believe that you must meet the client where they are currently. To provide a safe environment to alleviate crises, identify current needs, process past issues/traumas, and identify future goals for self. Also, to help clients learn to change negative behaviors/habits, to identify their own strengths, and develop positive coping skills in order to improve their quality of life. I believe your past does not have to define you but you can use it to propel yourself forward into the future that you hope to have.

Angela is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and brings years of experience of working with children and families. She has been trained as an adoption specialist and has experience working as a school counselor and in community mental health. In her practice, she sees children and teens, in addition to families and adults. She is trained in EMDR therapy as well as Trauma Focused CBT. She is passionate about helping families navigate tough times. She considers it an honor to come alongside her clients and help those struggling with anxiety, depression, behavior issues, family conflict and more.

I have experience in working with children ages 5-18 as well as adults ages 18 and above. I have worked in foster care and adoption, community mental health and with the elderly population as well. I value the importance of taking a person-centered approach and collaborating with my clients to best meet your needs.

In addition to being a licensed counselor, I am also a committed Christian and practice in a Christian counseling center. I work with individuals: teenagers (14+) and adults of various ages and with a variety of issues. Although my experience is not limited to these, specific areas of focus include the following: depression, anxiety, high-functioning autism, adoption-related issues, alcoholism and eating disorders, spiritual struggles, and general life issues. I am interested in working with people who are ready to improve the quality of their life.

My ideal clients are looking for practical approaches, such as why changing some routines around could improve their mood, while also digging into how their past trauma could impact their relationships and productivity.

I specialize in treating adopted and foster children and their families, and those who have experienced trauma. I graduated from Florida State University in 1989 with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. I provide person-centered therapy for individuals, couples, adolescents and children. I provide trauma informed care for those who have experienced loss, abuse and mood/anxiety disorders.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and panic disorders and mild to moderate OCD, as well as trauma and depression. My experience tells me that these conditions are highly treatable with the right approach. My primary method is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is a proven evidence based treatment for these problems. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Processing Therapy for the treatment of trauma.
