As a generalist clinician, I appreciate that people seek therapy for a variety of different reasons. I take a collaborative and relational approach to therapy and do my best to provide a supportive space for clients to feel heard, express themselves, and actively work toward change.

Natalie is passionate about providing high-quality therapy services to kids, teens, families, and adults of all ages! She has served hundreds of families in the KC area over the last ten years, and she is honored to walk alongside people as they seek what’s important to them. She has experience across a wide range of issues, and she also has specialized training in four specific areas: Adoption, Autism & Neurodivergence, Trauma, and LGBTQ+ populations. I enjoy working with children ages 3 and up. I have experience working with anxiety, adoption/foster care, depression, ADHD, trauma, behavior issues, and life changes. I value partnering with caregivers to find effective and practical ways to support their children.

Do you have a challenge in your life you'd like to work through with a professional? I see individuals, families, and couples through insurance and private pay, with scheduling often available in the same week. I am able to see adult clients in-person or via telehealth, depending on the client’s needs and abilities.

My therapeutic approach is to work with my Clients to help them develop the skills that will help them throughout their lives. I have worked with a wide range of Clients and their presenting issues and am currently offering therapeutic services for Individuals, Couples, Veterans, Groups and Families. I work with ages 6 and up and enjoy helping my Clients learn new techniques and skills to help them work towards improvement and establishing a better way of life.

I have over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in mental health and counseling settings. I am passionate about providing a therapeutic environment that is engaging, validating and focused on positive change. I utilize a variety of approaches to help individuals and families cope with challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship and parenting issues, adoption and attachment, ADHD, autism, loss and grief, trauma, school challenges and behavioral issues.

I have extensive experience working with women and matters that are unique to women. My clients have often dealt with depression, anxiety, infertility, infidelity, miscarriage, post-partum, and adoption. They often find themselves in the midst of relationship problems, life-stressors, anxiety, or grief. Others have come to recognize that past trauma (childhood or other) is affecting their current relationships and personal outlook on life. Women desiring to heal and grow find themselves very comfortable with my relaxed, non-judgmental and compassionate attitude.

I believe in having hope and moving forward to live a fulfilling life. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University. I have 17 years experience in the child welfare system with 10 years of that as a therapist in residential, outpatient, and school settings.

Hello! I'm Vanessa, co-owner of Secure Counseling Clinics. I've lived in KC for 20 years with my husband, 4 children, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 bearded dragon, and a flock of backyard chickens! I'm a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in both MO and KS, Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and KS board-approved clinical supervisor. My heart work is helping humans with complex trauma. Couples, as well as parents and their children, work with me to form secure attachments with each other. I help clients experiencing relationship difficulties and those who experience pain from circumstances or losses.
