I specialize in treating men/women from dysfunctional families who have anxiety/depression as a result of their upbringing. Treatment interests include Adult Children of Alcoholics, family dysfunction, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma. I utilize a direct interactive style contingent on the clients' needs. I help clients understand their emotional "blue-print" and create new learning and choices. I work with emotionally distant individuals, building communication skills and a positive sense of self. I have a special interest in men's issues, including difficulties expressing and understanding emotions and anger management skills
My work with clients from dysfunctional families/Adult Children Of Alcoholics concentrates on unraveling negative self-definitions, creating assertiveness, and learning effective ways to cope/relate to others. Healing from childhood traumas is my expertise. My clients benefit from this work by broadening their sense of self-esteem and confidence.
I work effectively with young adults/college students who struggle with life tasks, work, academics, and the transition into adulthood. I am a clear communicator, and I understand the Young Adult culture, challenges, and parental needs. My direct approach and practical coaching creates ease in entering the therapeutic experience.
