I bring thoughtful clinical expertise and sensitive concern to my practice of psychotherapy. With 25 years experience, I serve a diverse range of adults, and also specialize in several core problem areas. (1) Interpersonal and emotional struggles of individuals who are often frustrated, stressed and have trouble coping. (2) Mood and anxiety disorders.
My treatment approach responds to each person's needs but emphasizes self-understanding and change. I can also provide more directive coaching in problem-solving, life-skills and goal-attainment. My clinical style reflects an appreciation of each person's intrinsic potential and the power of human relationships.
My theoretical orientation is influenced by neuropsychology, psychodynamic theory, and developmental psychology. I completed my doctorate at the University of Chicago in 1988 and received clinical training at the Psychosomatic and Psychiatric Institute of Michael Reese Hospital.
