As a clinical psychologist, I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults. Utilizing an eclectic approach, I work collaboratively to address the issues that have led my clients to seek help. I enjoy working with complex trauma, abuse, PTSD, adoption, attachment, general psychotherapy issues, stressful life events, relationship issues, bereavement, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, mood and anxiety issues, and most kid-related issues (ODD, adjustment issues, etc). I further have significant experience addressing gifted and talented related issues and am an EMDR-level II trained clinician.

My Ideal client is someone, child, adolescent, or adult, who is ready to make a change in their behaviors, thoughts, their life. This individual may be feeling anxious, or depressed, or tired of repeating the patterns that “get them into trouble”. This individual wants to learn how to manage their feelings or thoughts, process through their situations, while gaining skills to work through those situations, and learn to let things go. I find that the individuals (children and adults) ready for change “dive right into” my therapy toys/sand tray/art supplies so that they can begin processing their issues they way that they need to.

I am a Certified Attachment Focused Therapist with 25 years of experience working with individuals who's lives have have been touched by foster care and adoption. I specialize in the treatment of attachment issues/disorders, trauma, and pre/post adoption issues for children, adults and all members of the adoption triad, using a variety of evidence based and promising practice techniques including EMDR, Attachment/Trauma Focused Therapy, Theraplay (R), IFS and other relevant therapeutic modalities. I work collaboratively with my clients to assure a safe space to be seen and heard on the path toward healing hearts and minds.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker who has provided clinical care for over 21 years. My work focuses primarily in the areas of attachment and trauma with much experience in the areas of adoption, foster care, grief, loss, victimization issues, anxiety related disorders, parenting, and attachment and trauma related disorders with an emphasis on treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The client that Kathleen works well with is youth (age 7 - teens) with trauma, divorce of parents, placement in foster care, adoption, or residential care, or who are involved in (or at risk) the juvenile justice system. Kathleen enjoys working with a variety of brain health (mental health) issues - depression, bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, traumatic brain injury, and schizophrenia. I have many years of experience working with women, children and families through being a special needs preschool teacher, children's mental health treatment manager, adoption program coordinator, and public speaker. I received my master's degree in marriage and family therapy in 2009. It is my desire to help clients of all ages who are seeking support and understanding with depression, anxiety, adoption, military life, and marriage and family issues. I work with clients of all ages and specialize in working with individuals who have been diagnosed with a life threatening or terminal disease, their families, and caregivers. In addition, I work with infertile couples and those pursuing fertility treatment and/or adoption, as well as women who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or post abortion grief.
