I provide psychotherapy and psychoanalysis for people suffering from depression, stress and anxiety, trauma, identity and relationship issues, GLBTQ concerns, immigration, racial, cross-cultural and acculturation concerns, grief and loss, parenting, marital and premarital concerns, women’s issues, self-esteem concerns, personality disorders, mood regulation and self-injurious behaviors, end of life issues, and career and life discontentment problems.
In my work, first and foremost I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment to facilitate authenticity and an open exploration of each client’s symptoms and self. Through the exploration of such symptoms and coping skills as well as through the use of the therapy relationship, I find that clients gain new, more authentic experiences and knowledge.
I have been trained in contemporary psychodynamic theory and I also integrate multicultural, feminist, existential, and mind-body focuses in my approach to develop a holistic and contextual view of my clients. Although a native of Hungary, I have lived in Michigan, Chicago, California in the past 19 years and now, happy to call Iowa City "home".
