Mental health shouldn’t be a privilege. So much of how we feel in our minds and bodies has to do with the identities we inhabit in the world and how our environments do or do not support us. I work with folks through an anti-oppression and somatic (body-based) lens. As a Non-Binary and Queer therapist, I am passionate about the decolonization of the therapy space. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years' of psychotherapy experience. My clinical experience emphasizes a therapeutic approach and holistic understanding of each client's experience while providing support to each client. I treat psychiatric issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, domestic violence, abuse, family/couples counseling, anger management, behavioral Issues, and self-harm. Additionally, to being a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern in Hawaii, she is a licensed psychologist in Puerto Rico, Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Texas, and a Clinical Hypnotherapist and certified Yoga Teacher. Her professional training includes a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Interamerican University, Puerto Rico, specialized in Family therapy and a second master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Freiburg in Germany.

Because I specialize in perinatal mental health and parenting, I often see the transition to parenthood as a tipping point. Alexis is someone who believes in your ability to restore balance and happiness to your own life. Alexis is aware of the many stressors that arise while deciding which direction to steer your life. She helps clients navigate through these difficulties to regain a sense of stability and peace. Alexis has performed a majority of her clinical work on Oahu providing counseling services to clients from all walks of life. She has experience in a variety of settings including intensive outpatient centers, classrooms, private practices, and community health care offices.
