I believe each person has inherent value; my goal is to encourage individuals to see their worth and facilitate them in making decisions they can reflect on with peace. Life is stressful at times, and we can all use a safe place to receive support and feedback. Counseling can help develop coping skills to better manage emotions of depression, anxiety, grief or stress; to improve communication between loved ones; and support individuals adjusting to major life transitions. I have a person-centered approach and often use strategies from CBT and TBRI to help client's meet their goals.

Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be an extremely emotional experience for moms. Many changes happen mentally and physically that can make this time period challenging. As many as 1 in 7 moms will experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD). PMAD can occur at any point from conception through postpartum, sometimes extending into a lengthy course of time if not treated. If you are a mom with these issues, you might feel alone, helpless and fearful of how to ask for help with PMADs.

I believe my most effective work is with couples for premarital, weddings, and troubled marriages. I have over thirty-five years of experience in this area. Military personnel and couples are also one of my areas with a great deal of experience. Additionally, I have extensive work in grief counseling and addictions. Other areas include issues with aging and diseases as well as issues of spirituality. I believe every person should be treated with dignity, professionalism and according to their own individual needs. I work with all persons to make therapy appropriate and affordable.

I am currently working with Dr. Malloy's help to assist clients in various stages of life, with varying lists of issues. Appointments can be done virtually or in person depending on the clients needs.

All it takes is one step in the right direction for change to happen. It's not about the big leaps or bounds. It's about making progress one step at a time. You do not have to figure out life all at once. We do not control what happens to us but we control how we will respond. I have worked in community mental health, a nonprofit family counseling center and a private psychiatric practice. I now have my own private practice.

In the practice the whole person's mind, body, culture, and spirit are focus on. We will work together to achieve the outcome of success.

I have a Masters degree in Counseling & studied Early Childhood Education as an undergraduate.

My name is Savanah and you read that correctly, my name is spelled with only one N and my parents told me it was because we couldn’t afford both. I grew up in a family that had a lot of the right ingredients (like warmth and humor) but didn’t have some of the tools that would have made home life a whole lot easier for us all. So, I became a Marriage and Family Therapist because families are where we can experience a lot of pain and frustration, but also tremendous healing. On an individual level, I know the relief of breaking free from from behaviors and thoughts that keep us in the exhausting cycle of pain and confusion.

I am a therapist who starts where the person is and helps them in developing direction for their treatment. I have over 20 years experience as a therapist, supervisor and clinical director.
