I began human service work in 1986 after receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo, located in Montevallo, Alabama. I received my Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Montevallo in 1994. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2001. I am currently licensed in Alabama and Georgia (inactive at present in Georgia) and am a board-certified supervisor for those wishing to become licensed counselors. A hurtful past cannot change, but moving through fear and hurt leads to acceptance, and then peace becomes evident.

The clients that I commonly work with are clients that are ready for a change. They have either tried to change on their own, or they have realized that in order to have lasting change they need a good support system. Two things that consistently spark joy for me are the ocean and the color blue. I was born and raised in Birmingham and I come from a big, loud, Italian family. While family doesn't always spark joy, I strive to stay healthy so that I can relate to my family better. Family has always been very important to me and that’s why I love systems therapy. So many of our wounds are tied to a relationship (or a lack thereof) and at the same time, healing can only be found in relationships. Sometimes we are afforded an opportunity to heal a relationship and other times we have to find internal healing with the support of other relationships.

Sometimes we struggle with BIG things in life, and sometimes we're just forcing ourselves through the daily grind. No matter where you are I'd love to help. I work with clients who are facing depression, anxiety, grief, addiction, and many others. I also specialize in working with men and specific issues to men - masculinity, confidence, self-esteem, and others. I am currently seeing clients ages 13 and up.
