I enjoy working with clients 8 and older, and I have extensive experience working with teens and adult women. I believe therapy should be collaborative and I appreciate when clients are open and willing to try new strategies outside of session. I use a prescriptive approach, finding the mode of treatment that will work best for each client. Clients can expect to be treated with compassion and respect, and to be fully informed of the treatment process.
I'm Nationally Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD (CPT). I am experienced in working with those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, transitional issues, and Perinatal Mood Disorders. I have a deep understanding of how early adversity impacts wellness across the lifespan.
I believe that "change happens within the context of a relationship" and I work to form and maintain a safe, trusting relationship with my clients. The fit must work for both of us and I welcome on-going discussion to this regard.
