My goal as a therapist is to demonstrate that therapy can be affirming, hard things can be explored, and "feelers" don't have to be so uncomfortable. Self-care and mindfulness can feel like buzz words, and I hope to find language and skills that fit into your philosophy's and life style. My therapeutic style is underlined by my compassion and candor, and guided by more than 10 years of experience working in a nonprofit agency. Emotionally loud individuals/families and not-so-helpful decision making are welcomed!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Ordained Minister of the United Church of Christ. I am also certified as a Sexual Addictions Therapist and Therapist Supervisor through the International Institute for Trauma and Addictions Professionals.

Reaching out for help can sometimes be the hardest part. Many of us function under the idea we should be able to figure it out on our own. But unfortunately that’s just not always true. We often build walls and create patterns just to survive. That’s the truth of it all, you’re a survivor because you’re here. My goal is to help my clients understand all parts of themselves and uncover what parts may be holding them back; while learning tools to help break these disruptive cycles. There are no bad parts, and you (or your teen) aren’t broken. I’d love to help, feel free to reach out whenever you’re ready.

Is fear, worry or nerves a problem for you? This can change. If you are an adolescent or adult, I will teach you how to eliminate anxiety that causes you distress. I am a licensed clinical social worker, who is passionate about helping adolescents and adults remove internal distress, so they can achieve mental wellness. I have over 20 years of experience helping others apply tools that empower them, and I use evidence-based, practice informed interventions to bring quick relief. We all start somewhere. And we all have progress to make. Our past and present experiences inform our future. Understanding our past helps us create a coherent narrative of who we are today. It sets us up for better success, both now and in the future. I enjoy working with clients who are looking to explore past and present relational dynamics, work through past traumas, find inner peace, or strengthen their connection with others. I value the opportunity to guide clients on their path toward self-exploration and I use evidence-based practices to tailor my approach to individual needs.

Matthew specializes in working with clients with ADHD, autism, depression, and anxiety. Before becoming a counselor, Matthew worked in special education. This combination of experience in makes him a great fit for clients struggling with school stressors and families having difficulty with school-aged kids. He also understands that relationships and parenting can be challenging and is adept at working with husbands and dads. Matthew continues his work in education as a professor in the psychology department at COD. He works extremely well with clients interested in learning skills to flourish with ADHD or autism.

There are situations and events in life that are challenging and that can create anxiety and depression. The coping strategies that have helped during troubling times may no longer work. Through these experiences, it is easy to lose a sense of identity and self esteem. There is hope. It is an honor to assists clients with turning their pain into growth. Through my compassionate support and skills, I can accompany you into the journey of becoming a healthier and happier person. My goal is to provide high quality, individualized and evidence based treatment to each client.

I understand that it can be difficult to seek help and I strive to create an environment that is safe, where trust has been established so that difficult issues can be discussed. All of my vocational career has been spent caring for the family system from kids and youth to couples and parents. My passion is to helping teens navigate their world that is ever evolving, provide support to emerging adults as they grow in their independence, and support couples to become the healthiest version of themselves. With a background in ministry, I love to help those who suffered from religious trauma and help them figure out their way forward.

At Dupage Counseling Associates, we provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space to allow clients to share their story. I aim to help children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with academic/social success. Whether dealing with ADHD, Learning Disorders, social skill deficits, motivation, or limited access to support services - a neuropsychological evaluation is the first step on the road to success. Children are often referred by their pediatrician, neurologist, classroom/ resource teacher, or school psychologist due to concerns regarding their functioning. Comprehensive evaluations are tailored to your child's individual needs. Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations typically include : intelligence, achievement/academic skills, executive functioning, learning and memory, language, visual spatial skills, coordination, social skills, behavioral and emotional functioning, and personality.

My lived experience as an immigrant gives me first-hand experience with grief, loss, and being an outsider. My clinical experience includes working in a hospital setting, a refugee resettlement agency, and a college. While I have experience working with a variety of issues, I take a special interest in working with young adults, neurodivergence, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and multicultural experiences.

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters in Human Services and Counseling from DePaul University and centers on navigating life's challenges, both personally and professionally. With a focus on families, parents, and adolescents seeking guidance, she brings a unique perspective to counseling sessions. Drawing from her background as a teacher, certified school guidance counselor and mother of three, she understands the intricacies of life's challenges that individuals and families often encounter.

For 20 years I specialized in divorce issues, both in families with high amounts of conflict and custody disagreements and provide support during this difficult transition. In addition, I have a strong background in Attachment, and I specialize in Attachment issues in children and adults and address the various challenges clients face in their current relationships. I use EMDR when appropriate and myriad Neuropsychological interventions.
