Christi Moreno is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Comfort and Joy Therapy. She received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP program and enjoys working with children (7+), adolescents, and adults of all ages. She enters every counseling relationship with a person-centered approach and uses a variety of counseling techniques and theories as appropriate for specific client situations. Techniques and theories could include elements from Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Adlerian Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, DBT, Art Therapy, and many others.

Our counselors use a variety of approaches to therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused, Adlerian, and Person-Centered approaches. We will help you reduce unnecessary suffering caused by rigid ways of thinking, harsh self-criticism, and avoidance of difficult thoughts and feelings. We work with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood swings, addiction, grief, and trauma.

I have been married for 16 years and have three adult stepchildren, a son-in-law and 3 grandchildren. I also have 2 cats that are important members of the family. The spirit of and definition family is something that has grown and has become valued over the years. My life experiences have given me insight and perspectives that allow me to make unique connections with my clients. I learned that life is ever changing. I have come to realize is that during times when we feel defeated, it does not mean we are unable to change the outcome or our quality of life in the future. Nor, is it too late to create the life we do want.

My goal is to provide you or your child a safe space in order to explore the challenges you are facing. I take the lead from you to work on the goals or change that are most important to you.

Welcome! I'm Samantha. My heart for mental health comes from my desire to help people struggling with daily life in ways they don’t see other people struggling. Everyone has their own roadblocks and it can feel very defeating to see everyone around you holding things together so well when it feels like you are not. My passion is in working with adolescents and young adults who are looking for a sounding board on how to navigate the seemingly daily new challenges.

Our lives are filled with both joy and sadness, comforts and fears, strengths and weaknesses. At times we may feel that the negativity in our lives is more than we can handle. Those are times when seeking out counseling can provide a great benefit. It is my great pleasure to work with many people to help them achieve their goals, find comfort and peace, and live well adjusted, fulfilling lives. I am blessed to have provided services to those needing help with: childhood disorders, grief, abuse, marriage and family conflict, bullying, stress management, parenting, faith crises, premarital and many more.
