Client is s 25 -year-old Single/African American female involved with CPS/DCP&P, two years in recovery, newly employed, has an apartment, and working towards reunification of her three children ages 7, 8, and 10 all girls. Client expressed being nervous, anxious, stressed, and fearful about this process. this is our third session, and we begin our sessions with a mindfulness exercise to get centered and lessen stressful feelings. Following that we begin to talk about the circumstances. Then we utilize reflective approaches and strength base approaches to place the circumstance in a perspective that could lessen stress.....

Dr. Tara is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about her work. To help people grow, heal, and overcome obstacles brings her great joy. Her expansive knowledge makes her a well-known expert in her field. She believes that her clients possess the capacity to heal, but sometimes they need the right environment to foster their true potential. She is holistic and views each person as an individual. Dr. Tara has extensive experience and is well versed in several counseling modalities and understands that each person's needs are unique.

Arthur utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, and mindfulness therapies. Arthur assesses clients using a humanist/existential and/or liberation health model theoretical framework. Arthur earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Tampa and a Master in Social Work at Boston University.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with post graduate work in Holistic and Integrative Health Studies, I am dedicated to providing a therapeutic space to help clients cope with all of life's challenges and stressors. I have over 14 years of experience working with children and families. I have worked as a community based social worker, guidance counselor, behavior specialist and mental health therapist. During the week, I work as a mental health therapist in the school setting. Therefore, I am well versed in the challenges today's children are facing. I bring all of the experience and knowledge from these roles into my sessions with my clients. My go to therapy is Cognitive Behavior Therapy but I use a variety of other therapies depending on needs. My experience is working with children aged 3-21, however, my area of speciality is age 10-15.
