Life sends unexpected events our way and it's important to find resources to help us cope, heal, and move beyond adversity. I have served an eclectic population in my 20+ years as a social worker and therapist. I believe my experiences both in and out of the therapy office have enhanced my ability to provide empathetic and multi-faceted clinical treatment to adolescents, adults, couples and families. My expertise and interests focus on life's varying transitions. I enjoy working with those who may be struggling with family dynamics, relationship pain, school/work stressors and/or identity issues.
I have much experience working with clients who wrestle with unhealthy communication patterns. This is often the primary cause of individual and family strife. I enjoy helping guide clients towards empathetic understanding and providing appropriate self-advocacy tools so clients can help heal wounds and move beyond relationship barriers. Communicationn is the key to connection.
I am trained in the impactful therapeutic treatment EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). If you want to move beyond feeling stuck in a difficult past, or have tried therapy and feel like you have reached a road block, EMDR can help decrease emotional triggers and make difficult memories copable. **officially trained by the EMDRIA institute
