I work with a variety of clients including children, teenagers, parents, and families - focusing most of my work with school-aged children and parents. My goal is to create a safe and playful relationship with my clients. I believe in the therapeutic powers of play and expressive therapies and incorporate play therapy techniques with directive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills to help treat a variety of common issues seen in children including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation issues, trauma, and ADHD.
I have experience and expertise working with stepfamilies and with families where children are raised by another caregiver (e.g., grandparents, aunts/uncles, godparents). I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, have training in Trauma Focused CBT, as well as training in Theraplay which I use to work on attachment between caregiver and child.
