I specialize in Bipolar disorder, ADHD, Autism, Depression, and Anxiety.
NOTE: Currently only accepting past clients. I specialize working with people that struggle with feeling inadequate and undeserving of love. Self-destructive cycles may be the result of such and I can help break those with my experiences in similar patterns. I am mindful of the person in their environment with my approach as we didn't create all our problems and yet we get to solve them anyway. I hope to support healthy self-care, boundaries, and more effective interpersonal interactions. I believe it is important to adjust behavior, thinking patterns, and beliefs that may hinder your path toward your greater long-term joy.

Therapy is very much a process of developing a relationship with someone you can truly trust who takes the time to really get to know you and what you’re going through. Treatment depends on the cause, which could be related to trauma, temperament, biology, and relationships to name a few. We will work together to identify what’s causing your distress and develop a plan to fit your individual needs.

I have a passion for mental health, especially working with those with ADHD and other spectrum disorders.
Every journey begins with a first step. Although it can be scary, you will not be alone. As a therapist, I strive to help you move forward in your journey by creating a safe space where you feel both heard and understood. Working together we can take steps to address thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are negatively impacting your life. I believe that the core foundation of any therapeutic relationship is trust. As we walk this journey together, I will allow you to speak without judgment, I will listen with empathy and understanding, and emotionally connect through open communication, honesty, and compassion.

I understand how to help others struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, parenting, coupling, addiction, and other life stressors.
I am an MFT licensed in UT, NV, and IN. I believe that relationships play a key role in our development and success in life. I also believe that they can be challenging to navigate and painful. At other times, we may just feel stuck, overwhelmed, or upset and need a different perspective. This is where therapy can help. I know therapy can help because I have experienced it myself, and I have had the privilege of helping many others navigate through their own challenges in life. Effective therapy can be an anchor for us during life's storms. Therapy can be a safe place to heal and become a better version of yourself.

I have also done a lot of work with adult ADHD.
In Holladay & Available state wide through video conferencing. Many people struggle with feeling different, strange, or like others do not relate to them well. Many people feel like they have to hide who they are and have no place to be themselves. Many new clients worry about being pushed to confront truths and emotions before they are ready. I seek to first get clients ready to change then support them as they lead the way. This goes for the person with depression who needs to reshape their relationships; the person with PTSD facing their painful past; and the gay person grappling with the consequences of coming out or not.

I deeply enjoy working with adults with ADHD, anxiety, and/or depression, and those who want to gain a deeper understanding of who they are. You may have the experience of feeling disconnected from others or difficulty knowing how you bring value to the world. If you have (or suspect you have) ADHD, you may feel overwhelmed from constantly trying to fit into a box that wasn't made for you. Together, we will explore your struggles, values, history, and strengths to cope with challenges and begin to feel more connected with yourself and those you care about.

My abilities & empathy work best with adult ADHD as well as teen/child ADHD, couples counseling, young adulthood challenges and caring for those carrying past trauma.
Every person (including you!) has value and worth. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, what you have done, or what has happened to you. You are valuable, just because you are here. Secondly, know that your life has value and a meaning – even when you are in pain. Many of us at various times of life need a little extra help-whether to process “stuff” that happened, or to figure out why we do what we do – I have a lifetime of experiences and training to help you do just that!

As a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist (SPT), I am passionate about working with all ages, but spend most of my time working with children, adolescents, and families on a wide range of issues including: trauma/PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, sibling conflict, self-harm, struggles unique to neurodivergent individuals, and identity/self esteem issues.
There is nothing more powerful than trusting yourself, believing that you can handle the bumps and valleys of life. I believe every single one of us has this resilience inside of us and sometimes we just need some gentleness, play, and connection in our mind and body to get back there. I will sit, stand, and play next to you in these hard feelings and I will do my best to bring authenticity and courage to the room together as you learn to trust and love yourself wholeheartedly.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
