My abilities & empathy work best with adult ADHD as well as teen/child ADHD, couples counseling, young adulthood challenges and caring for those carrying past trauma.
Every person (including you!) has value and worth. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, what you have done, or what has happened to you. You are valuable, just because you are here. Secondly, know that your life has value and a meaning – even when you are in pain. Many of us at various times of life need a little extra help-whether to process “stuff” that happened, or to figure out why we do what we do – I have a lifetime of experiences and training to help you do just that!

I specialize in therapy for athletes, with a dual focus on improving both mental health and sports performance. I also specialize in therapy for individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, or depression. I believe that mental health is an experience, not an illness or disorder. I help clients focus on connecting with their experience, moving them towards a better understanding of self and away from the pursuit of trying to fix themselves. Those I work with often report this perspective and approach enables them to move forward in their lives, despite the challenges and difficulties they face.

I work with people struggling with ADHD, processing difficulties, other learning disabilities, and correlated issues of self-esteem.
Let’s face it. Our children are facing an ever-growing, chaotic world and are often ill equipped to deal with the challenges they are facing. As a parent are you feeling lost and unsure as to how to help? Does your teenager or young adult cringe when you as a parent mention seeing a therapist? Young people could care less about theory, modality, and technique. They need connection, empathy and trust in a “professional” if progress is to be made. Resistance to help? Great. This is my jam, it’s my passion.

We all deserve to feel happiness and joy, but things can get in the way; maybe you're experiencing some relationship difficulty, anxiety, depression, ADHD or trauma. Whatever the challenge, that's where therapy comes in.

I understand how to help others struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, parenting, coupling, addiction, and other life stressors.
I am an MFT licensed in UT, NV, and IN. I believe that relationships play a key role in our development and success in life. I also believe that they can be challenging to navigate and painful. At other times, we may just feel stuck, overwhelmed, or upset and need a different perspective. This is where therapy can help. I know therapy can help because I have experienced it myself, and I have had the privilege of helping many others navigate through their own challenges in life. Effective therapy can be an anchor for us during life's storms. Therapy can be a safe place to heal and become a better version of yourself.

I have also done a lot of work with adult ADHD.
In Holladay & Available state wide through video conferencing. Many people struggle with feeling different, strange, or like others do not relate to them well. Many people feel like they have to hide who they are and have no place to be themselves. Many new clients worry about being pushed to confront truths and emotions before they are ready. I seek to first get clients ready to change then support them as they lead the way. This goes for the person with depression who needs to reshape their relationships; the person with PTSD facing their painful past; and the gay person grappling with the consequences of coming out or not.

Contrary to popular belief, ADHD can be managed effectively without medications.
I specialize in Addiction, Relationship Issues, and ADHD. Each of these are rooted in the struggle to understand and respond to our emotions in a healthy way which leads to a feeling of being disconnected from ourselves and others. My work in each of these areas focuses on the origin of these struggles. Addictions come in many form and are usually are fueled by the struggle to experience and feel safe in negative emotions. By learning to understand, experience, and respond to our emotions in healthy ways, addictions can become much more manageable.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
