I want you to know that I see you and understand that you're facing challenges. You may be dealing with anxiety, struggling with low mood, finding it difficult to concentrate with ADHD, or experiencing difficulties in your relationships. Your goals are unique to you, but they might include finding effective ways to manage your anxiety or depression, improving your self-esteem, and fostering personal growth. You want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, identify patterns that hold you back, and develop healthier coping strategies to navigate life's ups and downs.

Open and taking new clients! (telehealth) The "ideal client" I imagine working with is an individual that is characterized by having difficulty coping with anxiety, self-esteem, ADHD, relationships, and offer Christian based counseling. The needs of the client I imagine would be empathy and compassion towards that individual, space for their voice to heard and their story to be respected. I imagine my ideal client would desire "practical" but, "impactful" coping techniques to alleviate symptoms. I imagine my "ideal" client aspiring to regain "control" back into their lives and to feel "empowered."

I offer 50m sessions and 90m sessions for my fellow ADHD kids (adults) that might need more time to get where we're going.
How do you define adulthood in a modern world? No one tells you how to be an adult. Or maybe too many people tell you too many things. And how do you know when you’ve gotten there? The answer to this question is different for everyone. It’s not surprising you’re feeling lost, confused, anxious, or depressed thinking about adulthood. Our brains continue to develop well into our mid-20s, yet society expects us to have things figured out by then. I know I definitely didn’t! People wait much longer to meet the milestones of previous generations, and then are just expected to know how to navigate everything in the meantime.

My own struggles regarding “failure to launch”, stuttering, and undiagnosed ADHD, led me to a passion for serving “atypical” young people and their parents.
Are you the parent of a teen or young adult experiencing challenges with school and life transitions? Are you a teen or young adult struggling to achieve your goals or enhance your personal relationships? Overcoming obstacles to growth often requires self-exploration and changing the way we see ourselves.

I'm only accepting telehealth clients. I work with people struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction and other life challenges. The time you take, as well as, the effort you invest in and outside of therapy may help you realize central themes in your life and what you can to do to create a positive change. As you share with me your personal story/situation, I will help you gain skills and "tools" intended to move you closer towards reaching your personal value based goals.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
