I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, shame and perfectionism.
No matter the reason for seeking help, I’m glad you found me. Needing support is not an admission of defeat. Life is tough, and you and I are not excluded from being affected by hardship. You may be feeling scared, or worried, or maybe even excited! These are all normal feelings when looking for a therapist whether you are new to counseling or have been in therapy before. I believe in living authentically, in any way that feels most true to you. Together we will explore what living authentically means to you and work with your strengths to process past trauma and build your life in a way that you are excited about.

I offer 50m sessions and 90m sessions for my fellow ADHD kids (adults) that might need more time to get where we're going.
How do you define adulthood in a modern world? No one tells you how to be an adult. Or maybe too many people tell you too many things. And how do you know when you’ve gotten there? The answer to this question is different for everyone. It’s not surprising you’re feeling lost, confused, anxious, or depressed thinking about adulthood. Our brains continue to develop well into our mid-20s, yet society expects us to have things figured out by then. I know I definitely didn’t! People wait much longer to meet the milestones of previous generations, and then are just expected to know how to navigate everything in the meantime.

My ideal clients want change, but they aren't sure it's possible. If they know it's possible, maybe they're frustrated things aren't different yet. I specialize in working with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and co-occurring depression. Partially due to my past as a lawyer, I have significant experience working with individuals in high-stress, professional careers and highly technical fields. Also, I'm neurodiversity-affirming and enjoy helping adults explore the significance of late life diagnosis.

Not accepting new clients as I transition into maternity leave through January 2025. Shutting off the "inner critic" can often feel impossible. As such, most of the adults I treat struggle with negative beliefs about themselves in addition to anxiety/depression, body dysmorphia/low self-esteem, heartbreak/relationship problems or early attachment wounds/relational trauma. Supporting college students and young professionals who are navigating adulthood and the myriad of personal and professional challenges that can arise during this time is a passion of mine. I also enjoy supporting perfectionists and high-achieving individuals.

Do you often feel misunderstood? Have you been told to toughen up because you are "too sensitive"? Do you long to feel closer to others but feel overwhelmed by the task? Having the capacity for depth and complexity can be difficult to navigate in our competitive, linear-oriented, results-driven culture. Knowing and accepting yourself for simply "you" (not who others think you should be) is an important practice to cultivate and will help release toxic stress and shame, allowing you to connect more deeply with yourself and others.

We as humans develop belief systems that influence how we operate in our day to day. You may be noticing some ways you operate no longer serve you purpose and you desire change, especially if the way you have coped is causing more harm than help. Together we will develop an understanding as to why and how you operate to help work towards realistic steps in making desired shifts in your life. This process brings both emotional and mental growing pains. The hope is that by working through those growing pains, you begin to believe in and live out your growth.

I am a Therapist and have been providing mental health services for 2 years in outpatient and in home settings. I see Individuals and I address ADHD, adjustment disorder, depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and relationship challenges. I believe that the therapeutic journey is a self-discovery process to learn, reflect, and heal from past experiences that have impacted the way you relate to yourself and to the world around you. My goal as a therapist is to create an “untouchable” space where clients can unashamedly be who they are and share openly.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
