I work mostly with adults in building upon the coping skills they already have developed in their lives. I use talk therapy, CBT skills, DBT skills to help clients with their handling of needs regarding emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal interaction effectiveness. I also am trained in EMDR therapy for trauma related issues. I have worked with individuals using the above mentioned techniques and therapies as well as basic coping and relaxation skills, visualization, and mindfulness.
I consider myself a "coach" to help the individual discover and further develop their present coping skills and build on those already in place to further the capability of the individuals to independently manage stress in their lives.
I work with individuals to help develop basic problem-solving skills to gain better control over their reactions to stressful events in their lives. My office is quiet and can be very supportive while learning new coping skills or relearning and gaining new understanding of previously known coping skills.
